In order to capture a NPC 10, you need to send 28 waves to an NPC 10 at almost the same time . Same for taking a lev 5 .Taking a lev 5 easy ,after first wave ( 100k scouts is quick, or farm run if u got all day ) hit with 3k cav 3k scouts until its yours and say "cheesecake",
CAP IT THE SLEW WAY
YOU will need at least 160-200k archers
NPC needs to be within 3 min march 1-3miles
First scout the NPC untill defending hero is a single digit lvl 1-9 is best
Then send 2-3 waves of lvl 10 farming
92k archers 3k scouts 1.5k work/warr and 2k trans
(don't have to send trans on 2nd or 3rd wave)
Then continusly send 3k archers
(you will get archer loss at the 6min TICK as NPC regen 10% of troops every 6 mins, this TICK is the same TICK when taxed are collected)
CAP IT THE Blademan WAY
I send my spearhead then 100k warr to take out traps and logs. I then hit
it with cavs. It takes about 200k cavs to have small losses but if you hit
it with 3 cities all within the 6 min before it regenerates troops you will
instantly get it and you can take one anywhere with less than 40k troops
lost.
CAP IT THE BOB12 WAY
Troop requirements
What you need is a lot of troops. In particular, you need a town with 400k archers and 3 towns with 200k archers. Small number of troops for layers is also needed. The exact amount of troops needed depends on how you send your attacking waves, and could be as low as 275k archers. The total number of troops lost to capture the NPC is low, however, about 35k or so, assuming that you have reasonably good heroes.
Time requirements
In order to capture a NPC 10, you need to send 28 waves to an NPC 10 at almost the same time. To be safe, you probably have to send a few more extra waves. 31 or 32 waves should be sufficient, and thus 4 towns are needed to send the waves. The time you need is the time it takes for the furthest town to reach the NPC 10.
Town requirements
You need 8 heroes in each of your towns. The town with 400k archers needs a rally level 10.
Obtain information for the waves
For simplicity, I'm using "100,100" "150,200" "300,400" "350,400" as the towns from which you wish to launch the attacks, with "100,100" as the spearhead town for having the most troops, and "200,200" as the target NPC 10. Assuming that the current time is 8:00 AM server time.
You first need to obtain the time for warriors to reach the target from each of the towns using command "travelinfo 200,200 warr:1". The times in this specific case are 6:32:50, 2:18:53, 6:32:50, and 11:34:26. Let's round up all the times, to 7:00:00, 2:30:00, 7:00:00, and 12:00:00. We expect to spend 12 hours to capture the NPC 10. As your troops may be on NPC farming missions and are not ready for attack, let's schedule to capture the NPC 10 in 14 hours, at 22:00:00 server time. If you need to capture sooner, you may have to manually recall the troops and make sure they are back in time for you to send out the attacks.
Setting up the waves
For the spearhead town 100,100, which takes about 7 hours to get there, we're going to send 8 waves
Enter the following in the "script area" and click "Run"
Code: sleep @:15:00:00
setmayor // set politic mayor for now
attack 200,200 #best s:100,sw:100,p:100,a:95000 @:22:00:00 // send best attack heroes
repeat 2
attack 200,200 #best s:100,sw:100,p:100,a:50000 @:22:00:02
repeat 2
setmayorbyname none
attack 200,200 any s:100,sw:100,p:100,a:25000 @:22:00:04
repeat 4
We will also need to be sure all the heroes are home at 15:00:00. For that, add the following lines to the town's goal and click on "Set Goal".
Code: config wartown:1
wartownpolicy 14:55 15:05
For the second town, 150,200, which takes 2.5 hours to get there, we can send 8 waves with the following:
Code: sleep @:19:30:00
setmayorbyname none
attack 200,200 any s:100,sw:100,p:100,a:25000 @:22:00:04
repeat 8
and add the following goal to ensure all the heroes are home at 19:30:00
Code: config wartown:1
wartownpolicy 19:25 19:35
You can do similarly for the 3rd and 4th town.
Expected cost
If you have reasonably good heroes for the spearhead waves, it normally costs about 35k archers in total to capture a NPC 10. In term of time, while the execution time is long and depends on your towns and your target, the time it takes to set up the capturing should be under 5 minutes.
Other notes
Note that the NPC 10 is normally captured on the 28th wave, you can adjust the timing of the waves slightly so that you know in advance which town would send that 28th wave. You can also be more specific on the heroes to be used on various waves, especially from the spearhead town. Don't be too specific though (i.e. specify a few heroes instead of one) -- the hero you wish to use may happen to be the mayor at that time.
You can also reduce the number of waves, though be careful -- unexpected errors can always happen that prevent you from sending the waves as you intend.
If you're low on troops, you can split the 4 spearhead waves into 4 towns so that no town needs more than 275k archers.
You can also adjust the timing to be more precise.
Make sure you leave enough time for the troops that are currently out to return home before sending out the attacking waves! Recall your current troops if you must.
After capturing the NPC 10
You can use command "evacuatetown 200,200" to move all troops and resource to your new town. To fix the town into a fully working town, say to one with 8 cottages and 17 barracks, you can have the following in your goals for the new town:
Code: build barrack:5:100
build cottage:0:8
build barrack:5:100
build workshop:0:0,forge:0:0,stable:0:0,inn:0:0
build barrack:9:100
With a reasonably good politics hero, you could get the town fully productive within a couple of days.
Final remarks
Even though the process to capture a NPC takes a lot of time, especially if the NPC is far away, the time it takes for you to capture is quite short. Your troops can still go out farming up to the point they are needed to attack the NPC, so the process is reasonably efficient.
If you don't care much about efficiency, you could just remove all the sleep command and send the troops right away.
